This video shows how to make paper flowers. They are really simple to make, and require very little in the way of materials. All you need is some different coloured paper for each layer of the petals (3 different colours). The stem and centre part of the flower are made using pipe cleaners.
The different pieces of paper need to be cut to different sizes, which is shown in the video. As the pieces of paper needed are relatively small, it could be a great way to use up small square pieces of paper that you have lying around.
So that the petal sizes are equal for each layer of paper, you start by taking your squares of paper and folding them one at a time in half into a triangle shape along the diagonal. You then fold it into a triangle shape twice more and cut out a single petal shape using one of the folded corners as the centre. You then open out the folded paper to show your flower petals.
You could make a bunch of these flowers and add them to a vase to give as a gift for Mother’s day, or any other special occasion.
